HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR BIKE TUBE
Bike tubes are the components that, once the tyre is mounted, are inflated and deflated through a valve. When inflated, the tube stays in its correct position.
Tubes are usually made of rubber and require a specific pressure depending on the type of cycling you do and the tube itself. There are many different types of bike tubes available, in various sizes, with different valves, materials, and even puncture-resistant tubes.
At Eltin, you'll find the tube that best suits your needs and is compatible with your bike.
WHAT TYPES OF VALVES EXIST?
The valve is the part used to inflate and deflate the tubes. There are two types of valves:
Schrader Valve: Thick, robust, and very hard to damage. They are compatible with most floor or hand pumps. Typically used for 26-inch bikes or children's bike
Presta Valve: Common in road bikes and mountain bikes. They maintain air pressure very well. Some pumps may require an adapter to inflate these valves.
CHOOSE THE TUBE ACCORDING TO YOUR WHEEL SIZE
The first thing to consider before buying a bike tube is the size of your wheel.
There is a wide variety of tubes and sizes. To know the size of the tube you need, look at the sidewall of the tyre, where you'll find a series of numbers that indicate the tyre size and the range of tube sizes that will be compatible.
WHAT TOOLS DO I NEED TO MOUNT AND DEMOUNT THE TUBE?
There are specific tools designed to make tube replacement easier and ensure the process isn't complicated.
The first tool you must have is tyre levers. They will help you remove the tyre from the rim, take out the tube, and then remount it again.
