TYPES OF ANTI-THEFT BICYCLE LOCKS

A thick, hardened steel chain will help delay thieves and do the job effectively. However, it is heavy and may not always be convenient to carry on certain rides. That said, few anti-theft locks offer more protection than Eltin bicycle chains.

The U-lock is possibly the best way to protect your bike, as it was specifically designed for bicycle security. It’s advisable to purchase one with a high-security rating—a solid shackle with locks on both sides.

Like U-locks, folding bicycle locks also offer high levels of security to resist various theft attempts. However, unlike U-locks, this type of lock is more versatile. Its biggest advantage, as the name suggests, is that it folds, making it compact without compromising its strength.
▶︎ Cable locks / Spiral locks:
These consist of a high-quality braided steel cable and are very easy to use. They are a great option if you’re looking for a quick, lightweight, and flexible bicycle lock. Spiral locks are a thicker type of cable lock, coiled in a spiral shape and coated with PVC to prevent damage to the bicycle.
