THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLEMENTS IN YOUR CYCLING GEAR

▶︎ LEG WARMERS
If you're cycling early in the morning, it may be cold, and you might prefer to endure the chill rather than wear long bib shorts, knowing the sun will come out later and you'll get hot.

You might not mind the cold, but your joints—especially the knees—will suffer more than you think. Due to the cold, muscles and tendons are more contracted, making the joints stiffer.

Stiff joints suffer more and are more likely to get injured, so it’s essential to protect them. Leg warmers are the perfect complement for this.

Factors to Consider
To fulfill their purpose, leg warmers should be made from a fabric that retains heat and eliminates moisture. At Eltin, you can check which temperature ranges they are designed for.

Good cycling leg warmers should have an anatomical design to avoid wrinkles or bulging during the full range of motion while pedaling, with a fit that prevents slipping.

▶︎ ARM WARMERS
Arm warmers serve the same function as leg warmers, but for the arms. They are made from the same type of material, with the same fit characteristics, but in a simpler design.

You don’t need to remove them completely if the temperature starts to rise. You also don’t need to stop or balance on the bike to take them off. A simple motion with your opposite hand will roll the arm warmers down to your wrist, and you can easily pull them back on if necessary.

▶︎ BANDANA
There may be no simpler or more versatile cycling accessory than the bandana. It serves as a cap, scarf, balaclava, and headband.

In summer, many cyclists use it as a sweatband to prevent sweat from getting into their eyes due to the heat.

During cooler weather, it helps prevent heat loss from the neck and head, which are two of the three main body temperature regulation points (along with the feet).

▶︎ UNDER-HELMET CAP
Winter under-helmet caps protect the top of the head from the cold, and in some cases, they are also waterproof in case of rain.

For extremely cold days, when temperatures approach or drop below zero, a neck bandana might not be enough. In these situations, your best ally will be an under-helmet cap.

The summer version of the under-helmet cap prevents sweat from getting into your eyes due to the heat.
